We recently celebrated the opening of my Inspirational Women solo exhibition, four years in the making at the Huston Gallery of the Chester County Art Association. Thank you to the hundreds of people who attended. I was blown away, and appreciate each and every one of you. The collection consists of 57 oil painting portraits of incredible, strong women. These are women who overcame hardships, broke records and blazed trails, shattering glass ceilings along the way. This show will make you feel inspired, confident and ready to make a difference in the world.

The highlight of the evening was watching the reactions of the inspirational women who were not aware that their paintings were included in the show. For example, Peggy Davis. Here is what is included on Peggy's painting’s display label bio:

"Local farmer, Peggy Davis, helps to ensure that those in need have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Davis is passionate about giving back to her community. She has donated thousands of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to promote food security. And, she isn’t stopping there. She and her husband, Barry Davis, farm 35 acres on Collegeville Road in Collegeville near Skippack, where they grow corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, lettuces, summer squash, zucchini, cantaloupes, watermelons, herbs, flowers and much more. Her father was a gardener, and his father was a gardener from Ireland. They were poor but always helped others. She was raised to help. “Caring for others should come naturally. I help people because it feels right,” Davis says."

Many, many thanks to my wonderful husband for his patience and support during the four years devoted to preparing for this show, oftentimes while I painted in my studio until well after midnight. And, to talented artist and friend Karen Delaney for the marvelous job installing, to my studio neighbor, friend and photographer/videographer Amie Schroeder for taking photos and producing a video that made me cry, and to another studio neighbor and friend Patty Kline Capaldo at Creative Light Factory and my BFF Susan Gorn for all of their help with the bios. And, to the Chester County Art Association for providing the venue that continues to uplift and empower all women.

The Inspirational Women exhibition runs through November 30, 2021 at the Huston Gallery at the Chester County Art Association, 100 N Bradford Ave, West Chester, PA 19382.
